Checking the Word of the Day on a daily basis is my way of including a feel-good, easy-to-do accomplishment within my day- it feels like indulging on a multivitamin in the shape of a gummy bear: an enlightening speck of a treat.
Of course I won't remember every single Word of the Day word but there is the thrill of having some very unexpected words adhering naturally to one's vocabulary.
